The Cell Link Adapter lets you use a prepaid cellular phone or add a cellular phone to your regular cell plan and make or receive calls to your FreezeAlarm, WaterAlarm,or HomeSitter monitoring system. There are no additional monthly charges, except for the added charge for an additional Bluetooth enabled cell phone that will be dedicated to the Cell Link Adapter at your remote location. You can even use the Cell Link Adapter to give you regular ”dial-tone” service throughout a home via your existing telephone jacks!
How does it work?
1. Purchase a new mobile phone (or add a phone to your existing mobile phone plan. This phone needs to have wireless Bluetooth capability.
2. This phone will remain at the location where you want to use your HomeSitter, FreezeAlarm or WaterAlarm. You will leave it plugged into the power charger all the time, so it keeps the battery charged.*
3. When an alarm condition occurs, the HomeSitter, FreezeAlarm or WaterAlarm will begin to dial out to your programmed telephone numbers just like it would if you had a regular telephone line.
4. The Cell Link Adapter system will convert that call into a mobile phone call and make the call out through the Bluetooth mobile phone that is sitting next to the Cell Link Adapter.
5. If you need to call into your alarm system to check the status, you simply call the mobile phone number of the phone sitting next to your Cell Link Adapter. The Cell Link Adapter will allow the call to your remote mobile phone go through to the HomeSitter, FreezeAlarm or WaterAlarm.
6. The addition of the Cyberpower CPS-01 product is highly recomended as the Cell Link Adapter unit does not have its own backup power supply. Packges INCLUDE a CPS-01 Cyberpower Battery Backup unit.
A MOBILE (CELLULAR) PHONE IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE CELL-LINK ADAPTOR: You will need to purchase a separate Bluetooth enabled mobile phone that will work with the Cell Link Adapter System. You can add a wireless Bluetooth enabled mobile phone to your existing mobile phone plan or use a “pay as you go” phone. The phone must be Bluetooth enabled to communicate wirelessly with the Cell Link Adapter system.
NOTE ABOUT BATTERY BACK-UP SYTEMS & POWER FAILURES: Our alarm dialers all have battery back-up systems, but the Cell-Link Adaptor does not. The Cell-Link Adaptor must be plugged into a regualr 110VAC power outlet. We highly recommend our Cyberpower Back-Up Battery system to provide approximately 5 to 10 hours of power to the Cell-Link Adaptor during a power failure. The packages detailed below include the Cyber Power Back-Up Battery (CPS-01), but you can also purchase this separately.
Your mobile phone should remain plugged into the charging system that came with the phone. This should keep the phone charged during a power failure. You may consider using a timer that cycles the phone charger so you can maintain a better charging life of the phone's battery. Timers are available at any hardware store.
